General objectives

The Master degree in International Evolution at PSIA offers innovative training in international development based on a renewed approach to sustainable economic growth and political practices. PSIA'southward program is designed to train the next generation of development specialists, building on the profound transformation of the development give-and-take.

Chief orientations and specific features

The curriculum provides a strong intellectual background in development studies, favouring critical approaches and using both bookish assay and practitioners' feel of global governance and the multifaceted question of sustainability. It also combines intensive training in finance, economics, public policy (from the global to local level), projection design, management and evaluation.

The Master in International Evolution offers an in depth introduction to multiple actors (public agencies, NGO's, private foundations, multilateral organisations) and to multiple instruments (from traditional official development assistance, to markets mechanisms and innovative finance anre more) and generates both belittling and applied skills that graduates will utilise to implement the side by side generation of development policies and practices. A special focus is placed on acquiring essential skills in policy and project design and evaluation, finance accounting and practical economic science, management and planning methods.

The students volition have the opportunity to choose a comprehensive set up of courses in specific areas such as, amongst others, agriculture, health, urban issues and sustainability.

Career opportunities

Graduates will find openings in the private sector (profit and non profit) also every bit the public sector. In public agencies, national, regional, and local governments, besides as international organizations and agencies, graduates will work, amongst other roles, on the formulation, direction and evaluation of public policies and projects. In the private sector, they may work for instance as project managers, consultants and in the innovation sector for applied research projects as projection designer and managers.

Dr Saskia Ravesloot, is a respected idea leader with expertise in guiding staff and teams in diverse cultural settings, managing political and policy dialogue, programming, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes, equally well equally evidence-based advancement, capacity building and training, especially on the gender-responsive rights-based approach.

Dr Ravesloot works for bilateral and multilateral organizations (such equally: European Wedlock, UNDP, UN Women, GIZ, LuxDev), in more than thirty countries, mostly in Africa, but too Asia and Latin-America. She is passionate and integrity-driven nearly sharing her experiences with students and young colleagues from all over the world.

Dr Ravesloot is a PSIA faculty fellow member since 2016 and teaches two courses in the Spring Semester (1 for start-year students and some other, more advanced, for 2d-twelvemonth students) preparing our students to exist agile actors towards achieving gender equality in international cooperation.

Dr Ravesloot'southward courses are too part of Sciences Po's Avant-garde Certification in Gender Studies.
